Tim Fite* realized he had a co-dependent relationship with his phone in the winter of 2014, so he designed a glass iphone replica to use as a weening device and technology surrogate. He called this object “The Phoney,” and learned to embrace it’s gift of digital transcendence. The cerebral peace created by Fite’s “Phoney” allowed him to focus on producing iBeenHACKED - a music/art project satirizing and celebrating the highs and lows of digital culture, examining the ways technology and connectivity are hacking our daily lives, and altering the codes that we live by.
